Lara Weithorn | Myofascial Release Therapist
Lara Weithorn’s fascination with fascia began 15 years ago when she took courses from Structural Integration Bodywork educator, Garnet Dupuis. After two decades of sports injuries and years of pain, she had an “ah-ha” moment! All those times she fell off her horses, skis, snowboard, and mountainbike, were not incidental. With muscles of concrete, that no doctor could explain, myo-fascial release was the first relief she’d had in years! After a hiatus from practicing bodywork (but not from receiving!), she returned to train more extensively in Structural Integration methods in 2006. That journey eventually brought her to John F. Barnes approach Myofascial Release (MFR). Born yet again you could say, Lara has now taken 300 hours of Myofascial Release courses from John F. Barnes and Frances Nicolais, with no intention on stopping this fabulous learning journey. Lara continues to explore the body’s healing potential with a East-meets-West belief system. She has taken courses in Neuromuscular Re-education, Cranial Sacral, Energy Medicine, and Shamanism; along with anatomy, exercise physiology, kinesiology, injury evaluation, and related coursework at UCLA Extension, which she blends with her love of yoga, dance, and hiking, for a whole mind-body approach to healing and moving through life.
